Carol was my best friend and I miss her everyday. It was very hard for me to say goodbye to her when she died of lung cancer on Sept 6th, 1998. She was a special person who touched my heart and everyone around her with her smile and laughter. I think about her all the time.
Lois, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Carol. She was a great person. I can remember all the laughs we had in school with her and Rose. I haven't seen her since high school. I'm glad you stayed together. I am sorry for your loss.
I have fond memories of Carol. We were friends all through high school (same homeroom 330) Bacon House, and continued to be friends after graduation, marriages and children. I was saddened to hear of her passing. I think of her often. I miss her. Dorothy (Holt) Lenihan
Carol was always a very nice and "sweet" young woman. It saddens me to learn that she passed away at such an early age, from such a horrible condition. As I've read all these tributes to our classmates who have left us, and asked myself, why them and not me, I think back to what my father used to say, "There but for the grace of God go I."
Now, I am not a religious person, but I am very spiritual. In discussing the same topic with a friend of mine who lost her husband last year to pancreatic cancer, I asked somewhat rhetorically "How come others have died and I am still here?" She said, "Because your work on earth is not done yet." That could be the best answer I've ever heard. I do feel that way, but I ceratinly feel as if other good people have been "taken" far too soon, and Carol was one of them.
